Dutch Burqa Ban

BREITBART.COM - Dutch Muslims hit out at proposed burqa ban

Rita Verdonk, minister of immigration and integration, said the bill proposed a ban on the basis that covering the face constituted a risk to public order and safety.

The ban would be imposed in public and "semi-public" places such as schools, courts, ministries and trains, her spokesman Martin Bruinsma told AFP.

So why isn't the United States doing the same thing? This is a security issue. Want to drive? Take it off. Want to get on a plane? Take it off. There needs to be a line drawn on tolerance and this seems like a good line.

One time my family was in a cingular store and a lady (I think it was) can in with all back with only her eyes showing. It was freaky and my wife and I had quite a discussion about this. What if this lady wanted to pay with a credit card? The merchant has a duty to check IDs and compare with the actual face.

This is also an assimilation issue. America has certain traditions and cultural distinctions that are American. We should not have to change us and jeapordize security for this radical view of Islam. There are other countries where this is welcome and normal. If I go to one of those countries then I would honor their culture and tradtions.
