For all the veterans, this day is for you. Thank you for your service in the long term efforts to keep America free and safe. Your efforts are, too often, underappreciated.
Hugh Hewitt has a post about a young Marine who recently was killed in Iraq. Please read here.
Posted by Tim at November 11, 2004 07:37 AMThank you, Tim, for this posting. It's impossible for me to convey the gratitude I have for the women and men that put their lives on the line for me and my family. Any time we vote, use our free speech rights, enjoy the peacefulness of our neighborhoods and towns, and all the other basic items of our democracy, we owe so much to our veterans. Our servicemen and women died for our constitutional rights. One mundane way I use to regularly remind myself is to always use the time during the singing of the Star Spangled Banner or while reciting the Pledge of Allegiance to meditate on the enormity of our veterans' sacrifice.
