Tip to many...
Just watch it. See if he's the real deal or not.
UPDATE: Be careful when you watch it. It might really touch you.
Posted by Tim at October 19, 2004 01:07 PMThere is also a request for recipients to forward Ashley's story on to five other people.
I've done so, sending to people I know who are either Democrats or undecided. I recommend other bloogers swupporting GWB do so also.
Posted by: Phil Dillon at October 19, 2004 02:40 PMYou know, this "daughter" ad is kinda interesting in contrast to the daughter stuff the Bush campaign used against one of America's best, Senator John McCain, in 2000:
"...In South Carolina, Bush Republicans were facing an opponent who was popular for his straight talk and Vietnam war record. They knew that if McCain won in South Carolina, he would likely win the nomination...It didn't take much research to turn up a seemingly innocuous fact about the McCains: John and his wife, Cindy, have an adopted daughter named Bridget...Bridget has dark skin...Anonymous opponents used 'push polling' to suggest that McCain's Bangladeshi born daughter was his own, illegitimate black child...if the 'pollster' determined that the person was a McCain supporter, he made statements designed to create doubt about the senator."

Notice a pattern, boys? Face it. Karl Rove sits up nights thinking about daughter stories to use to elect Bush. Bridget McCain? Ashley? Mary Cheney?
Ashley isn't an issue. She's become a scheme, a strategy, and a tool for ice-hearted, political hacks like Karl Rove. There's a grubby, worn file called "Using Daughters To Win Elections" in Karl's briefcase. Teeheehee!!! Weren't the Bush Twins cute up on stage at the convention?? And yeah the hacks at the DNC wish they'd thought of this strategy first.
Dry your eyes. Blow your nose. Get serious. And figure out which candidate you think will make the best decisions for the U.S. economy and the Iraq War. Then send a check, and work like hell for your values, your candidate, and vote on Election Day. This is democracy, not "As The World Turns."
Posted by: Tom at October 19, 2004 09:53 PMTom,
You need to drop the whole Karl Rove is the devil scheme. This was an ad not done by Rove. Trying to see what makes someone tick is extremely important. Rove may be someone to take advantage of situations but that doesn't seem to be Bush. Kerry on the other hand does the dirty work himself. No one stages event like Kerry and his campaign. There is no proof that Bush does that dirty work or even approves of it.

Posted by: Tim at October 19, 2004 10:09 PMI just saw the Kerry APPROVED ad exploiting a 9/11 widow. The Ashley ad was not Bush approved. Again, big difference in approach.
