Perspective on 9/11

As some may have noticed I didn't make a big entry about 9/11 on the 3rd anniversary of this horrible attack. In all honestry, 9/11 is one of the main themes of this blog and it's something I think about every day and write about terrorism and the current war on terror frequently. This election, for me, is focused on one issue, defeating Islamic terrorism. It is almost silly to me to remember just one day when it is still so fresh in my mind. Maybe in 20 years it will have drifted further away but it's something at the forefront right now and has been that way for 3 years and 2 days.

An interesting stat from my pastor; the weekend after 9/11/01 saw 1000 extra people attend services that weekend. That number has quickly dwindled back to "normal". I guess many people have forgotten what 9/11 was and that they are just mortals. None of us are guaranteed a tomorrow yet we act like we will live forever.

Sorry for the rambling but it is early.

I noticed a great wave of humility sweep over America that day, but just like Egypt in reaction to the plagues God sent, we have hardened our hearts.
