FoxNews - Kerry Says Intel Reforms 'Long Overdue'

FOXNews.com - You Decide 2004 - Kerry Says Intel Reforms 'Long Overdue'

I saw a bit of Kerry's speech. He also said that he's been advocating change for a long time (I thought now was the time for non-partisanship). His proposed changes were to just cut over a billion dollars for the CIA. Give me a break. John Kerry hasn't done a darn thing in his Senate career to enhance our defense or security. Most of his votes have been against weapons systems and growing our capabilities. The 60's view does not work in a post-9/11 world.

Okay, so the 9/11 committee says the preparations we've done in the past were wrong or ineffective. You're saying that when those (wrong or ineffective) preparations came up for a vote in the past, Kerry voted against them. Can I tell the Kerry campaign you're saying he was smart for voting against ineffective defense measures?

But seriously, I personally am always skeptical when someone analyzes a politician, Republican or Democrat, who makes probably thousands of votes each year on legislation, and then someone goes through those votes, cherry picks certain votes, and then makes a point. It's too easy to get hazy analysis.

For example, I was listening to the radio yesterday, and they said something like President Bush would veto the latest tax cut extension package if it gets to him. HEADLINE LEFT ANGELES TIMES: Bush Against Tax-Cuts??? No, simply that he wanted a longer extension than was being proposed. I obviously am cherry-picking my analysis for partisan point-making.

I think the partisan hacks at the DNC and RNC love all this half-baked analysis. It ain't fooling me come election time.
