Derek Jeter - A True Ballplayer

MSNBC - Jeter improvesAll-Star resume

I just love to watch Derek Jeter play. He's a clutch guy and seems to have great instincts on the field. The heart and soul of the Yankees.

I read a recent issue of Sports Illustrated that took issue with the idea that there was such a thing as clutch hitting. The players vigourously asserted that there was indeed such a thing, and Derek Jeter was the poster child for the argument.

I completely agree about Jeter, he pulls through in clutch times, it kinda reminds me of Tino Martinez. Well Tino before he got traded to St. Louis and fell of the map.

Jeter is the epitome of clutch in modern-day sports.

You won't see Kobe or Shaq giving up their body to win one game. That's why I don't understand the allegiance of Laker fans to such selfish, self-aggrandizing players.

My allegiance has been to the Lakers since 1972. I stick with my team even when some of the players aren't of the best character. I will defend Kobe a bit here in that he has tried to play with nasty shoulder separations, even shooting left handed until he got pulled.
