Some get tough recommendations from Bill Kristol about winning the war in Iraq. Time for Bush to shake it up and act like the leader we've seen him in previous times.

-Paul Bremer and Colin Powell floating ideas about pulling out if the Iraqi government asks us to.
-Victor Davis Hanson in the previous Broken Masterpieces posting sing the praises of how wonderful Defense Secretary Rumsfeld has been ("...America's finest Secretary of Defense in a half century...." he gushes!!). And if Rummy is wonderful (so we can't dump him), why should there be any problems?
-We get the Weekly Standard bunch like Bill Kristol and David Brooks saying this thing has been mismanaged (They must have meant mismanaged by everybody but Rummy, huh Vic?), and we should double our efforts with new approaches to win the war.
My theory is that the continual dropping of Bush's poll numbers is at least partially linked to this confusion. (I'm sure there will be Republicans that try to blame the liberal media, Kerry, ACLU, us liberals' scummy morality, Teddy, MTV, Bill & Monica, etc. :-) )
To me it's a crisis of leadership. Sorry, I'm more wordy, but I agree with Tim's conclusion: "...Time for Bush to shake it up and act like the leader...." I ain't gonna vote for him, but in the meantime, he's all I got.
