Yahoo! News - Video Seems to Show Beheading of American
Is this what Teddy/Manslaughter Kennedy thinks we are doing to Iraqis? Let's get back to the common enemy folks. These terrorists would gladly cut your head off also.
Senator Kennedy is reprobate. There is not a shred of morality left in his pickled brain. Is there anything he will not say for political benefit?
Senator Kerry brought in the soldier whose life he saved. Senator Kennedy said, "John Kerry would not leave him behind to drown..." Kennedy is incoherent.
What is the difference between leaving a gullible young female drunk to drown and humiliating hardened enemy killers? Were some of these prisoners involved in the execution of American POW and the rape of Jessica Lynch?? Kennedy stands in judgment?
Liberals did not criticize Saddam's torture, Vietnam, Korea, China, Sudan, Egypt, Pakistan, Syria, ad infinitum. They did not criticize the UN sanctioned genocide in Rwanda and Sudan. They did not call Bosnia, Macedonia, Kosovo a quagmire (six years later) They still refuse to acknowledge the UN/Iraq Oil for Bureaucrats, Terrorists and the cover up. (What did Kofe know, when did he know it? Just $10.5 billion...) Yet they want 22 year old girls to get hard time for hazing?
Send money to President Bush's reelection. Be sure to vote. This is important.
God bless America,
JoeS
Posted by: JoeS at May 11, 2004 02:02 PMTim, I think you're right that Senator Kennedy's election year statements are over the top. But there's a grain of truth running through Kennedy's rant. It's not hard to find smart Republican conservatives, say like David Brooks or David Gergen, who make non-hyperbolic statements with this same grain of truth, and I think it goes like this: Abu Ghraib prison was a national symbol of Saddam Hussein's cruelty to his political enemies. Who's bonehead idea was it for the US to reopen and use it? Because of that dumb decision, how godawful does it look that the United States military police in that facility are torturing---again---Iraqi citizens there? (David Gergen on Fox: "...don't open up the [Abu Ghraib] prison, close down the damn prison...this is a notorious prison, we're best off getting it out of our hands and moving anybody over to other prisons...")
Posted by: Tom at May 12, 2004 06:20 AMFYI, Gergen is not a conservative.
It's all Monday morning quarterbacking to say we should or shouldn't have used Abu Ghraib prison. I didn't hear any outrage when it was opened so I don't but much into the hindsight. The problem isn't the prison but the behavior of certain US personnel. At the same time what has been done to Iraqi prisoners (the ARE bad guys) by us is nothing compared to what Saddam did or what happened to Nick Berg.

Regardless of all that has happened. These..things...that we are fighting, these souless beings need to be destroyed. Failure to do so, will result in the death of many more innocents.
Posted by: StarkTruth at May 12, 2004 09:14 AMre: "Gergen is not a conservative." The guy President Reagan hired as his Director of Communications was some left-winger? :-)
p.s. But I certainly agree with your main point "...what has been done to Iraqi prisoners (they ARE bad guys) by us is nothing compared to what Saddam did...."
Posted by: Tom at May 12, 2004 12:51 PMGergen is one of the so-called "moderates". Remember he also worked for Clinton and I've never heard anything conservative out of his mouth. He's an inside the beltway guy that just wants everyone to get along.
