ESPN.com - NFL - Ex-NFL player Tillman killed in Afghanistan
In May of 2002, Pat announced his intentions to join the Army, turning down a $3.6 million contract offer in the process.
How many of us would turn down an amazing amount of money for a cause we believed in. Pat Tillman was truly a man who is worthy of being called a hero.

This is very sad. He turned down fame and a comfortable life, then gave up his life for our freedom.
