CNN.com - White House, Saudis: No election deal on oil - Apr 19, 2004
President Bush needs (needed?) to lower his ties with Saudi Arabia. Of course John Kerry will distort what may have happened with the Saudis but something that cannot be foregotten is that 15 of the 19 hijackers were from Saudi Arabia. Clean it up George.

I'm sure that the President has not forgotten how many Saudis were on the planes. Typically in the oil industry gas prices will drop in the fall as the "diffrent blends" are being produced and US travel is at it's lowest. I'm sure that Saudi Arabia would have a better ally with Kerry than with the President and could inflate gas prices in the fall to hurt the presidents chances of re-election.
Woodward is a hack, he got a name for himself for Watergate and wants to be back on top of the heap.
Woodward may be a hack but he's out there pushing his story with the aid of all media. Regretfully, sometimes perception can override facts.
