New York Post Online Edition: The Truth Hurts
Great highlights of how Bob Kerry and Richard Ben-Veniste turned the hearings into a partisan mess. Way to put party before country, again.
Posted by Tim at April 9, 2004 04:45 AMHere's where I think Dr. Rice messed up:
During her testimony, if the Treasury got a nickel every time Dr. Rice blamed government "structural problems" or "cultural issues" (FBI vs. CIA cultures), we'd be able to retire President Bush's obscene federal deficit.
To stereotype, conservatives guffaw when a liberal whines, "Well, it's society's fault..." when discussing welfare reform. Dr. Rice pulled the very same line of crap when it came to 9/11. Rice blamed everybody and everything but herself.
We don't pay Rice to passively detail bureaucratic inefficiencies. We pay her to solve the problems. This might be a little partisan on MY part, but the dumbest parts of her testimony sounded like, "If anybody had told me to act, I would have acted, but no one did. So I did nothing."
How'd you like someone with that attitude to be your town's police chief?
