In response to the capture of Saddam the typical anti-war reponse is "but we just went to terror threat level Orange, we're not any safer since the capture of Saddam".
That's a nice little sound bite but let's dig deeper. I'll agree partially that since the capture we aren't that much safer. The reason we are safer is that Saddam was knocked out of power and no longer has access to money to give to terrorists, there is no training of terrorists in Iraq and he can never use or build WMDs. No matter if WMDs are found or not we know from the Kay report that there were active programs and we also know he's used chemical weapons before. This man is out of power and no longer a current or future threat to America. His capture does not make the physical America much safer but does help keep the troops safer.
