The Next Democratic Strategy

Based on this entry about Bob Graham and this latest by John Kerry the stategy seems to be to make Bush a liar. Two problems, Bush is a straight shooter and both of these guys had access to the same information Bush had and didn't say anything (because the info said there is WMDs). Heck, Senator Kerry even voted for the resolution allowing for the US to handle the Iraq situation.

This is truly politics at it's worst. Remember, in a post 9/11 world it's just not safe to vote Democrat.

No. Kerry didn't say there were never weapons. You've distorted the Democrat argument. He said, "Misled." President Bush misled us all about the Iraqi threat. He linked Iraq's WMD to Al Qaeda to convince us another 9/11 would occur. He scared the heck out of us all to justify war. Um, problem: Our own intelligence agencies didn't concur on a threat like that. Bush and his administration ignored and/or suppressed any disagreement by our intelligence agencies and the President's view.

We Dems don't disagree that our soldiers may yet discover the chemical and biological weapons. We all knew at some point Iraq had these weapons. With enough looking, a one-eyed cat could probably still find evidence that Germany tried developing nukes in WW II. So what?

Dems don't believe we'll find what Bush claimed (but our own intelligence agencies didn't concur on)---an Iraqi reconstituted nuclear weapons program or evidence of a close link with Al Qaeda. That's why Bush said we had to attack NOW. Screw the UN. Cut off our old allies if they disagreed.

Bush said he'd return honor and dignity to the White House. But Dems like Kerry believe Bush's administration deceived or misled us and Congress about what was known of the threat from Iraq, choking off our ability to make an informed decision about whether or not to take the country to war.

Didn't you guys impeach Clinton over deception? Have some guts. Would you at least theoretically agree if Bush distorted or ignored intelligence data to send us to war, he deserves severe consequences, possibly impeachment?
